Foreign Minister

Maldives Ministry of Foreign Affairs has revealed that the condition of Foreign Minister Dr. Abdul Samad Abdulla is now improving, after suffering from a severe heart attack earlier this morning.

Referring to doctors in Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore, a Ministry official told Sun that the Minister’s condition is currently improving, but said that they cannot provide details.

Dr. Samad suffered a sever heart attack earlier this morning while recovering from a dialysis treatment. The Foreign Minister has a history of heart disease and had undergone a coronary artery bypass surgery some years ago.

Reports state that Dr. Samad still remains admitted in ICU in Mount Elizabeth Hospital and that he is accompanied by his wife.
