President meets with American Ambassador

President Dr Mohamed Waheed has met with US Ambassador to the Maldives Patricia Butenis.

In the meeting held this morning at President’s Office, the President talked about the current efforts to set up a national unity government, and the government’s plans for the country. He assured the Ambassador that the current government will not influence justice and fairness in the country.

The American Ambassador congratulated the President following his efforts to resolve the current political challenges faced by the Maldives. She also said that the US government will continue assist the Maldives in this regard in the future as well.
