Haa Alifu Dhidhdhoo Atoll Education Centre has faced difficulties conducting classes due to loud music coming from the campaign stations of Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) and Jumhooree Party (JP) in the island.
Some of the parents have said that complaints have been filed to the school, because the students are being disturbed by the music coming from the loudspeakers at the campaign stations of MDP and JP, which are located about 200 feet from the school.
Deputy Principal Hussain Badheeu said that the school management had received complaints from parents and teachers regarding the music.
Badheeu said that after the parties were informed of the complaints, MDP stopped playing music but JP continued to play the Quran over the loudspeaker.
“Shortly after we informed MDP of the complaints, they stopped playing music. But JP said that they are not playing music, and that it should not be a problem to play the Quran. But it has been difficult to conduct classes because they are using powerful loudspeaker systems,” he said.
About 600 students attend Dhidhdhoo Atoll Education Centre.
