Reenee Abdul Sattar elected to replace Fahmy Hassan as CSC member

The parliament has elected Fathimath Reenee Abdul Sattar, M. Unimaage, for the vacant post of member of Civil Service Commission (CSC).

This follows the earlier decision that President of CSC Mohamed Fahmy Hassan had lost his CSC seat.

The Independent Institutions Committee, in its report, requested the parliament to make a decision on this issue as no applicant interviewed by the committee for this post received above 75 percent points.

The parliament voted on three names nominated for the post, and out of 54 votes, Reenee Abdul Sattar received 51 votes in favour, zero against, and three abstentions.

Zakariyya Hussain received 15 votes in favour, 37 against, and three abstentions.

Reenee Abdul Sattar, who previously held the post of Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Defence, is the daughter of former Deputy Minister of Defence Anbaree Abdul Sattar and former Minister of Gender Aneesa Ahmed.
