Police seeking individual for deceit of over MVR 500,000

Police have appealed for public assistance to find a man accused of deceiving over MVR 500,000 from an individual.

Mohamed Wafir, 39, Jeymugasdhoshuge, Meemu Muli, is being sought for fraudulently obtaining MVR 552,000 from an individual, after promising to provide iron cables and copper wires in return.

Mohamed Wafir has previously been sentenced in absentia to three months in prison. Details of the case is, however, unclear.

Police have appealed to any persons who might have information regarding the whereabouts of Mohamed Wafir to contact them, as soon as possible.
