LGA has not stopped working following court order: LGA vice president

Vice President of the Local Government Authority (LGA) Sujau Hussain has said that the authority’s work had not come to a halt following the Civil Court order.

Civil Court ordered earlier today to temporarily halt all efforts related to the implementation of the decision to appoint Minister of Education Dr Asim Ahmed as the president of LGA.

This injunction by the Civil Court came in relation to a case filed by Vice President of LGA Sujau Hussain, requesting the court to declare void the decisions made during the meeting held to appoint Dr Asim as the president of LGA.

Sujau Hussain has said that the authority’s work had not come to a halt following this order.

He said that LGA would still hold meetings with him as the chairman, as following this order Dr Asim cannot chair meetings the authority’s meetings.
