Two more people have been arrested in relation to the murder of Ahmed Nizar of Woodland, Laamu Gan.
A police media official said that the people arrested under a court warrant tonight are aged 23 and 26.
This brings the number of people arrested on suspicion of involvement in Nizar’s murder to four.
The first suspect, a 21-year-old man, was arrested on 15 July; and a 22-year-old man was arrested on 17 July.
Gan Magistrate Court has extended the detention period of both suspects.
Police have revealed that the assault took place in Gan Mukurimagu ward while four people, including Ahmed Nizar, were returning to Gan after travelling by motorcycle to Laamu Kadhdhoo post office, where they had collected a package.
Police said that they suspect the assailants used wooden planks and iron rods to attack. The materials were discovered near the body, police said.
