Former Attorney General Bisam appointed Special Advisor to the President

President Dr. Mohamed Waheed Hassan Manik has appointed former Attorney General Aishath Bisam as the Special Advisor to the President.

The President’s Office said that Bisam was appointed to this post this afternoon.

This appointment comes shortly after current Special Advisor to the President Dr Hassan Saeed announced that he would resign as Special Advisor to the President, after accepting the post of Running Mate of Jumhooree Party Presidential Candidate Gasim Ibrahim.

The government’s appointment of Bisam to the post of Attorney General was rejected by the parliament.
