The police have under a court warrant entered and searched the residence of renowned businessman Mohamed Saeed (Golden Lane Saeed), who has been suspected of trying to obtain undue advantage illegally by using a sex video of Supreme Court Judge Ali Hameed Mohamed.
Saeed’s lawyer Noorban Fahmy told Sun Online tonight that the police entered Saeed’s residence under a court warrant at around 17:30 today, searched the house until about 20:00, and took some of Saeed’s belongings for further investigation.
Noorban did not specify which items were taken by the police.
Saeed has been summoned by the police on two occasions regarding this case.
On the first occasion, Saeed answered the questions posed by the police, but when summoned for a second time, he attended the police station with his lawyer and exercised his right to remain silent.
Noorban said that Saeed remained silent on the second day because the police did not provide more information related to the case.
The police have also arrested former Project Advisor at the Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure Ahmed Faiz on suspicion of trying to sell a sex video involving a judge.
Judge Ali Hameed was summoned for questioning on Friday night, but the police have not given any details.
The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has set up a five-member committee to investigate the case of the sex video involving Judge Ali Hameed.
The committee is made up of Vice President of JSC Abdullah Didi, JSC Members Latheefa Gasim and Ahmed Rasheed, and lawyers Hussain Siraj and Mohamed Anil.
