Civil Court rejects case asking to invalidate Minister Asim

Civil Court has rejected a case filed by the Vice President of the Local Government Authority (LGA) Shujau Hussain, asking the court to invalidate Minister of Education Dr. Asim Mohamed’s appointment as the president of the authority.

Rejecting the case last Thursday, Civil Court stated that although he is the vice president of LGA, Shujau had filed the case on a personal status and that he did not have the right to contest the matter on such a status and thus, the case cannot be continued by the court.
