Jumhoory Party Leader Gasim Ibrahim has heavily criticized the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) by saying that they did not fulfilled any of the pledges during their three years in power.
Speaking at a Jumhoory Party campaign event in Vaavu Keyodoo last night, Gasim said that former president Mohamed Nasheed had acted completely against what he had promised in his manifesto.
“They did not fulfilled anything in their manifesto, acted completely against the manifesto. Why didn’t they fulfill their promises before, if they want to make promises now?” Gasim said.
Gasim continued by accusing former president Nasheed of not being able to fully understand what is stated in the constitution, and said that he had completely neglected his oath to serve the people.
Gasim said that former president Nasheed is heavily biased towards his party members and that Nasheed had said that a favour asked by a person from another party will be met by a show of how notorious he can be. Gasim said that the Maldivian people do not want such a leader to return.
In their campaign for the 2013 elections, MDP has stated that they did not get the opportunity to fulfill their campaign pledges they made when they came to power in 2008, that three years was not enough and that they need a full five year term to implement their plans.
