The undeclared goods were being smuggled by Cartunes: Customs

Maldives Customs Service has revealed the company that tried to smuggle undeclared goods to the country on the 19th of last month as Cartunes International Pvt Ltd.

A press statement by Maldives Customs Service released today said that the 40-foot shipping container held vehicles and vehicle spare parts.

Importer of large quantities of vehicles and vehicle spare parts, Cartunes is owned by Male’ City Council Member Ibrahim Sujau.

“Current findings show that the a amounts of vehicle spare parts were not declared to the Customs,” the press release by Customs read.

Customs said that their investigation section is still investigating the case. They have not stated a how they will pursue the case.
