Media Council establishes recording system

The Maldives Media Council has established a recording (monitoring) system.

In a statement issued today, the council said that based on past experience, the system was established as part of the first phase of finding solutions to problems faced in obtaining evidence such as video clips regarding material that have been broadcast when investigating complaints filed to the council in this regard.

The council said that the system would record material broadcast on all channels in the Maldives 24 hours, and maintain a three-month archive.
