State Trading Organization Plc has planned to sell goods imported exclusively for the month of Ramadan, at reduced prices, starting today.
The company’s General Manager, Sales and Marketing Adam Azim told Sun today that the new shipment of goods, especially imported for Ramadan, will be sold at reduced prices and that they will be available starting from noon today, from the all retail food stores across the country.
STO’s new reduced prices include a sack of onions for MVR 230 compared to MVR 290 at local prices, a sack of potatoes at MVR 190 compared to MVR 270 of local prices and a carton of eggs for MVR 280 compared to MVR 340 of local prices. The company is also selling the same goods by kilo grams, although the prices for these quantities could not be clarified.
Azim said that canned goods, cooking oil and tuna products will also be available from their stores at reduced prices.
Prices for the majority of food products rise dramatically for Ramadan each year. By supplying these essentials, the public limited company hopes to maintain their prices during the holy month.
