Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has stated that no corruption was involved in the leasing of the Ibrahim Nasir International Airport to the Indian infrastructure company GMR by the previous administration.
The ACC investigation report on the leasing of the airport to GMR published today states that concrete records exist that a concession agreement was signed between the government, GMR consortium and Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL).
“As no actions of corruption can be identified from the bid evaluation process according to Act number 2/2000, it has been declared under Act number 12/2008 Article 25 (a) (i), that this case does not involve crimes of corruption and thus, close the case,” the ACC investigation reported stated.
