Dead body found in Dhiffushi brought to Male

The dead body of the US man that drifted on the beach of Kaafu Dhiffushi yesterday has been brought to Male’ and taken to the mortuary in Galolhu Cemetery.

The body of the 36 year old man was discovered around 1:15 pm yesterday. He was later known to be a US citizen holidaying in Meeru Island Resort, reported lost while snorkeling.

People from Dhiffushi stated that the man was wearing blue colour shorts with a snorkeling mask when discovered.

There has been a noticeable recent increase in the number of tourists who face fatal snorkeling and diving in the Maldives.
