Attempt to stop bag-snatcher results in accident

An accident has taken place today when a man on a motorcycle snatched a bag in the basket of another motorcycle, and the owner of the bag tried to chase the bag-snatcher.

A police media official said today that the accident took place at around 10:00 near Carnival parking area on Boduthakurufaanu Magu, when a man who snatched a bag from the basket of a motorcycle tried to escape by speeding on his motorcycle.

The official said that the owner of the bag caught up with the bag-snatcher near the petrol shed at the carnival area, and tried to stop him, and the bag-snatcher then pushed the bag owner’s motorcycle with his leg.

The bag owner then hit a car that was passing by, and fell on the street.

The car was seriously damaged in the accident, and the motorcycle was also damaged to some extent.

The official said that the victim is being treated for minor injuries at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).

“He didn’t suffer any serious injuries, just a cut on his elbow,” he said.

The case is under investigation, but no arrests have been made yet.
