President meets with UN Assistant Secretary General

President Dr Mohamed Waheed has met with UN Assistant Secretary General Oscar Fernandez. The meeting was held this morning at Hilaaleege.

In today’s meeting, the President informed the UN Assistant Secretary General of the current situation of the country in terms of its political upheaval, and of ongoing efforts towards resolving these issues.

He said that his foremost priority at the moment is to uphold the Constitution, rid the country of conflicts and restore peace.

The President welcomed the assistance and cooperation of the United Nations in resolving the current issues faced by the country.
