Dead body discovered near Dhiffushi

A dead body has been discovered drifted ashore the beach of Dhiffushi, Male’ atoll, today.

Dhiffushi Council President Hussain Rabeeu said today that the male corpse was discovered around 1:15 pm this afternoon and that there were no signs of abuse on the body.

“The body was very fresh when we found it. There was no foul smell or any apparent injuries,” Hussain Rabeeu said.

He said that the body looks to be of a Caucasian and that it was wearing blue colour shorts with a snorkeling mask.

The Counselor said they have not received any reports of missing persons from nearby islands and that the police have been informed of the discovery of the body.
