Government provides high salaries and appoints people to ineffective companies: Dr Jameel

Running Mate of the Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) Dr Mohamed Jameel Ahmed has said that the only thing the government does at the moment, is provide high salaries and appoint people to ineffective companies and companies that exist only on paper.

Dr Jameel said this while speaking at a press conference held at the party’s office today to provide information on their visit to Lhaviyani Atoll.

Dr Jameel said that instead of trying to solve the problems faced by the health sector, all the government does is appoint people to the boards of ineffective companies.

He said that even though the government is incapable of fulfilling people’s basic needs, it is capable of appointing people to ineffective companies and providing them high salaries.

“People have noted that the government, while incapable of fulfilling people’s basic needs or improving health services, is capable providing high salaries and appointing people to ineffective companies and companies that exist only on paper. The government pays no attention to disruptions in the provision of basic public services,” he said.

Dr Jameel said that due to the state of the Maldivian economy, health sector and other sectors, people fully support the economic policies of PPM Presidential Candidate Abdullah Yameen.

Dr Jameel further said that PPM would fully support all efforts by the government for the betterment of the people, and assured that a PPM government would strengthen the health sector.
