LONDON (AP) — Manchester United coaches Mike Phelan and Eric Steele are leaving the team as new manager David Moyes looks to install his own staff.
Moyes, who the former Everton manager, officially takes over from the retiring Alex Ferguson on July 1.
Phelan was promoted to assistant manager in 2008 while Steele joined as goalkeeping coach in the same year.
Moyes says "I would like to put on record the club's thanks for everything Mike and Eric have done. I will be looking to appoint my own members of coaching staff at some point in the future, however, I'd like to take this opportunity to give them both our best wishes for their future careers."
