Audit report of the Police Integrity Commission (PIC) has revealed that the Commission had neglected to properly maintain their registry of fixed assets.
The 2012 Audit Report of the Police Integrity Commission, signed by the Auditor General and published by the Auditor General’s Office yesterday states that the Commission had not properly maintained their registry of fixed assets and that even though the prices of some of their fixed assets were included in the registry, it does not reflect the changes in prices of fixed assets over time.
“It is noted that if the registry is not maintained with the prices of the fixed assets showing the changes in prices according to different categories, there would be a chances of losing property and an inability to properly calculate the assets,” the audit report stated.
Auditor General has ordered the Commission to maintain their registry of fixed assets according to the Public Finance Act.
The audit report further states that the PIC had maintained their expenses according to the budget granted to them by the parliament, in a manner that realizes the purposes of the budget granted for 2012.
