Three people arrested in connection to assault on teacher in Kumudhoo

Police have arrested three people in connection to the assault on a foreign teacher by parents after accusing the teacher of hitting one of the students in Haa Dhaalu Kumundhoo yesterday.

Police revealed that persons of ages 41, 35 and 28 have been arrested for assaulting a teacher after charging into the school premises.

Kumundhoo Council said that the teacher who was injured in the incident was sent to Male’ yesterday evening to provide further medical treatment.

Police said that they received the reports of the incident late evening yesterday. The boy who had received abuse from the teacher was treated from the island’s medical centre and soon released.

Police have since advised the public to prioritize dialogue in such instances of conflict and try to solve the problem by involving a proper mediator such as police.
