Arif appointed as Advisor to Finance Minister

Arif Hilmy, who previously held the post of Minister of State for Finance, has been appointed as Advisor to the Finance Minister.

This has been confirmed to Sun by a government official, who said that Arif will work on contract basis.

Arif is known to have worked greatly towards budget controls in the Finance Ministry during former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom’s presidency. He filled several senior posts at the Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) before being appointed to the Finance Ministry.
