Plaintiff has no legal capacity to have filed case to annul primary: Civil Court

The Civil Court has ruled that the plaintiff, member of Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) Rahma Moosa has no legal capacity to have filed the case requesting to annul the PPM primary election.

The Civil Court ruled today that the basis of Rahma’s claims concern the rights of the candidates who contested in the election, and Rahma was not one of the candidates. The court thus ruled that Rahma has no legal capacity to have filed the claims as stated in the case in question.

Umar Naseer told Sun Online that following this court ruling, he will file the case to Civil Court in his own name on Sunday.
