Head of Maleesha charged with fraud

Head of Maleesha Hajj and Umra Services, Ismail Abdul Latheef, who collected money from a large group of people with the promise of taking them to hajj, has been charged by the State with fraud.

Media Official of Criminal Court Ahmed Mohamed Manik said that the case was filed to court by the Prosecutor General’s Office today.

Manik said that Ismail Abdul Latheef is accused of misappropriating MVR 8,626,000 collected from people wishing to go for hajj.

The claims against Ismail Abdul Latheef are based investigations which resulted in the collection of statements against him from 92 people, said Manik.
