Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) has denied allegation that the party had tried to stop Thaa Thimarafushi airport project, saying that the allegations were “baseless.”
The party released a statement today stating that the party wishes for the airport project, and all other development projects, to continue.
“PPM will always work for the development of the people. Therefore, we would like to state that the party will not withhold a development project,” the statement read.
PPM’s denial follows allegations by Thimarafushi MP Ahmed Shareef, also a member of the PPM parliamentary group, that certain people within his party had tried to stop an airport project due for his constituency.
