"Supreme Court decisions are not open for interpretation"

Supreme Court has said that all rulings, orders and decisions made by the court are the last and final decisions of the judiciary and that everybody is obligated to obey their rulings, orders and decisions, without exception.

A press statement released by the Supreme Court today stated the Constitution stipulates that all rulings, orders and decisions by the court shall be obeyed, without alteration or subject to interpretation, along with all legal consequences that they may entail, and that it shall be the last and final decision to which all parties of the State must obey to the fullest.

The Supreme Court statement follows a decision by the parliament to appoint a new member to the Civil Service Commission (CSC) yesterday, to replace the commission’s current president Mohamed Fahmy Hassan, against whom the parliament had made a decision that he be removed from the commission, which had later been deemed by the Supreme Court as unconstitutional.
