MIRA collects MVR 803.2 million in revenue for the month of March

Statistics published by MIRA today has revealed that the Authority has gained MVR 803.2 million as total revenue during the month of March this year.

The total of MVR 803.3 includes $41.7 million in US Dollar revenue, which shows a 23.7 percent increase total revenue collection compared to March 2012, a 0.5 percent increase total revenue collection compared to the forecast for March 2013.

The statistics also show that a total of MVR 41 million was collected as the Airport Service Charge.

The Authority also collected MVR 28.21 million as Business Profit Tax (BPT), MVR 347.82 as Goods and Services Tax (GST), MVR 81.88 million as Tourism Tax (Bed Tax), and a total of MVR 250 million as Tourism Land Rent for the month of March 2013.

The recent numbers show that MIRA has collected a total of MVR 2.5 billion from January to March this year, compared to MVR 2.0 billion collected during the same period last year, which calculates to an increase of MVR 488 million. The tourism tax rate has been increased to 8 percent starting from January 2013.
