BML's Chief Internal Auditor passes away

Mr. Lucian Jayakody, Chief Internal Auditor and Chief Compliance Officer at the Bank of Maldives (BML) has passed away.

Lucian Jayakody passed away on an airplane en route to Dubai from Canada, travelling back to Maldives after a visit to meet with his son in Canada.

A Sri Lankan citizen, Jayakody joined BML on 11th October 2006 and has worked in the financial industry for more than 25 years.

In addition to being the Chief Internal Auditor of BML, Jayakody was also a member of the bank’s Corporate Management Team and the Executive Committee.

The Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of BML Mr. Peter Horton expressed his sympathies upon Jayakody's death, stating that Jayakody’s work was greatly valued and that his passing away is an huge loss for the bank.
