Gayoom to join PPM mass rally tonight

The Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) has decided to hold its first mass rally since its Primary Election tonight.

Dhunya Maumoon said at a press conference held at Mookai Suites today that the rally scheduled for tonight at Carnival area would be themed ‘Nation First’.

She said that Gayoom has urged all PPM members to join the rally, the purpose of which is to unite PPM.

“The president of PPM has invited all members to attend tonight. The rally will be themed ‘Nation First’. The purpose of the rally is to unite PPM,” she said.

PPM Spokesperson Ahmed Mahloof said that tonight’s rally will be attended by Gayoom and PPM Presidential Candidate Abdullah Yameen.

“Speeches will be given at the rally by the party president, presidential candidate, and other senior officials. Special messages will be given by the party president to PPM members and all citizens. So it is our wish that members participate in this event,” he said.

He said that no invitations have been handed out for tonight’s rally and that all members of the public are welcome to join.
