Israeli drone strikes have killed five Palestinians and wounded several others in Gaza City, preceding a series of late-night air strikes that destroyed four residential homes and damaged dozens of nearby structures across northern and central Gaza.
Medical sources confirmed the five fatalities following the targeted drone attacks in the regional capital earlier in the day.
Hours later, Israeli fighter jets launched strikes flattening three homes in Gaza City—across the Shujaiya, Al-17, and Rimal neighbourhoods—alongside a residence belonging to the Al-Buhaysi family in Deir al-Balah.
Residents reported receiving sudden evacuation alerts by telephone, prompting widespread panic and forcing dozens of families to flee into the streets before ordnance struck.
While the four houses were completely levelled and surrounding structures suffered heavy damage, preliminary reports indicated no immediate casualties from the house demolitions.
The deadly attacks compound persistent violations of the regional ceasefire agreement.
According to Gaza's Health Ministry, Israeli breaches of the truce have killed more than 1,470 Palestinians and wounded over 5,180 others.
Since October 2023, Israel's genocidal war has killed more than 74,000 Palestinians and injured over 175,000, while destroying roughly 90 percent of the enclave's infrastructure, according to official Palestinian figures.
