BMW showcases upcoming car in ‘Maldives Blue’ finish

BMW has unveiled its upcoming car, BMW i7, in a distinctive ‘Maldives Blue’ finish, with the model scheduled for release next year.

The unique color was inspired by the vibrant blue waters and pristine beaches of the Maldives.

According to reports by BMWBlog, the vehicle was developed through BMW’s Individual customization programme. The interior is fitted with ‘Smoke White’ BMW Individual Merino leather, providing a refined contrast to the ‘Maldives Blue’ exterior. The vehicle also features 22-inch V-spoke 1099 I aerodynamic wheels and the M Sport Pro package, which incorporates sleek black detailing.

Customers in Germany will be able to select ‘Maldives Blue’ as a BMW Individual colour option for an additional €6,900.

Automotive magazine Bimmertoday describes the colour as a soft blue that captures the essence of the sea surrounding the Maldives.

However, the model is not exclusive to the Maldives, and there are currently no reports indicating that the vehicle will be sold in the country. BMW Group Middle East has previously used the color on its ‘7 Series’ and ‘X7’ models.

The vehicle showcased in Romania is the BMW i7 xDrive60’ variant. BMWBlog reports that the model is equipped with the latest battery technology, providing a range of up to 728 kilometres on a full charge.

Powered by dual electric motors, the vehicle produces 536 horsepower and 745 Nm of torque. According to BMW, its 250 kW charging capability allows the battery to charge from 10 per cent to 80 per cent in approximately 28 minutes.
