Modern sports complex project with gym and ice bath launched in Kudafari

The Sun Siyam Sports Complex being developed in N. Kudafari has been officially launched.

The project was inaugurated by Sun Siyam Resorts Founder, Chairman and Managing Director Ahmed Siyam Mohamed.

The ceremony, held at the island’s football stadium, was attended by Velidhoo MP Mohamed Abbas, Kudafari Council President Ahmed Mahfooz, members of the Women’s Development Committee, and a large number of island residents. During the event, students of the Kudafari Sports Academy presented a plaque to Siyam in appreciation of his contribution.

Sabba Constructions has been awarded the contract to build the Sun Siyam Sports Complex. The project is expected to be completed by November and is described as one of the most advanced sports complexes in the region.

The complex will feature a state-of-the-art changing room, indoor gym and ice bath facility.

Speaking to Sun, Kudafari Council President Ahmed Mahfooz said the complex will significantly support the activities of the Sports Academy and the Eldalee Club.

He said Kudafari aims to host the Under-23 tournament scheduled for December, and expressed gratitude on behalf of the island’s residents to Ahmed Siyam Mohamed for making the project possible.

Mahfooz said Kudafari is a model island for sports, with a highly active academy and a large number of young athletes. He said the complex is a long-held dream of the community, now being realized in a short period of time under Siyam’s guidance.
