BUSTO ARSIZIO, Italy (AP) — Kevin-Prince Boateng and AC Milan manager Massimiliano Allegri are among those testifying in the racism trial against six fans of lower division club Pro Patria.
After repeated racist chants were directed his way during a January friendly, Ghana midfielder Boateng kicked the ball in anger at a section of the crowd, took off his shirt and walked off the pitch with the rest of the Milan team.
The fans face charges of inciting racial hatred.
The ANSA news agency quotes Boateng as saying "I think they insulted me because my skin isn't white. It happened to me in Germany, too, and it's clearly acts of racism to me."
Milan players Urby Emanuelson, Sulley Muntari and M'Baye Niang were also targeted by the chants.
Milan defender Daniele Bonera was also testifying Wednesday.
