MoU signed between Maldives and Qatar

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the Maldives and Katara Hospitality, the leading hospitality organisation in Qatar.

Zawya paper of Qatar reported that under the agreement signed at a ceremony held at Ritz Carton Hotel in Doha yesterday, the Maldivian government would offer Katara Hospitality the opportunity to develop hospitality or real estate projects in one of three premium locations within 20 to 30 minutes speed boat ride from Ibrahim Nasir International Airport.

The MoU was signed by Minister of Tourism of Maldives Ahmed Adeeb and Chairman of Katara Hospitality Sheikh Nawaf Bin Jassim Bin Jabor Al-Thani.

“Katara Hospitality is a reputed investor and we are confident that their presence in the Republic of Maldives will definitely mark a milestone for the raising the profile of tourism in the country," said Ahmed Adeeb at the signing ceremony, reported Zawya.

"The paradise islands of Maldives have always been a strategic destination on the map of our global expansion and we welcome this opportunity for advancing our presence in South Asia", stated Sheikh Nawaf, according to Zawya.

Tourism Minister Adeeb is accompanying President Dr Mohamed Waheed Hassan Manik in his current official visit to Qatar.
