MAPS College conducts seminar aimed at heads of companies

Modern Academy for Professional Studies (MAPS) has initiated a three day seminar aimed at heads of offices and companies.

The seminar titled “Ingredients for a Successful Business” began on the STELCO 5th floor auditorium yesterday, inaugurated by the Attorney General Aishath Azima Shakoor.

MAPS College revealed that their seminal will be held from18th until 20th of this month, and has a target audience of Managing Directors, Board Members, CEOs, General Managers, Financial Managers, Financial Controllers, Business Development Managers and the Senior Management of the companies.

The College said the highly experienced group of facilitators; Dr. Nathan Campbell, Associate Professor of Business Management at the Henderson State University, Dr. Chris Brune, Assistant Professor of Finance at the Ouachita Baptist University, Mr. Paul Burk, the Chief Financial Officer at Adobe Oil & Gas Inc & Liberty World Trading, Clark Lovrien, Chief Operating Officer at Dalworth Services, and Vinny Alex, CEO of the Stylus Systems Pvt. Ltd.

“We have invited senior members from some of the biggest organizations for this seminar, including CEO’s, Chief Financial Officers, Managing Directors, we have targeted for Manager level leaders,” said MAPS College Dean of Students Fathimath Rasheed.

She said that a total of 33 participants from 8 different companies are taking part in the seminar, and went on to explain that they have often heard complains that fresh postgraduates who join large companies at the high level posts lack experience and that the purpose of this program is to answer those new leaders that newly join the industries.

“We face this a lot. Different people from different organizations come and tell us, that even though they have studied, that they do not have real life exposure. So we believe that if the experts from the most advance country in the world America, comes and share their experiences with them, that it will be a real experience for our corporate and business sector,” Fathimath Rasheed said.

MAPS college said that this seminar is the first of its kind and that they plan to hold such international seminars in the future and that they have planned a number of seminars for this year as well.
