The Ministry of Arts, Culture and Heritage has announced the recruitment of several staff and service providers as part of efforts to expand its operations and strengthen institutional capacity.
The ministry has issued a total of eight announcements, with deadlines falling on the 14th of this month.
Five permanent civil service posts have been opened.
The positions are: Principal Public Relations Officer, Senior Public Relations Officer, Senior Human Resource Officer, Principal Human Resources Officer, and Senior Administrative Officer.
In addition, a recent announcement has been made for the recruitment of a Principal Bureau Officer.
Beyond job opportunities, the ministry has also invited a PR firm to tender for media work for the Ministry and its subordinate agencies for a period of two years.
Another announcement seeks a contractor to prepare the venue for the upcoming Independence Day entertainment and sports activities, part of the July 26 celebrations.
The Heritage Ministry has announced vacancies across multiple categories, despite already having a large number of political employees. Last year, the ministry had 50 political employees.
The ministry, established after Dr Mohamed Muizzu took office, oversees four agencies: the National Center for the Protection of Cultural Heritage, the Academy of Maldivian Language, the National Museum, and the National Center for Maldivian Heritage Studies.
The main responsibility of the Ministry, headed by Heena Waleed, is to revive Maldivian nationalism and protect and promote Maldivian heritage, language and culture.
