MDP to hold its PG Election tomorrow

Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) has brought its Parliamentary Group (PG) Election planned for 28 March forward, and decided to hold it tomorrow.

MDP said that the names of the candidates who will contest in the election have been arranged.

The party’s present PG Leader Ibrahim Mohamed Solih is the only person to have expressed interest contesting in the election for PG Leader.

Four people have expressed interest in contesting for the post of Deputy Leader. They are MDP PG Deputy Leader Ali Waheed, Kaashidhoo MP Abdullah Jabir, Nolhivaram MP Mohamed Nasheed and Dhidhdhoo MP Ahmed Sameer. Two people will be elected as Deputy Leaders.

A PG Secretary General, PG Deputy Secretary General and three Whips will also be elected in the PG Election.
