Adam Manik appointed as President Waheed

President Dr. Mohamed Waheed Hassan Manik has appointed Male’ City Council Member Sanrangu Adam Manik as his special representative.

A senior official from the President’s Office said today that Adam Manik’s position does not entitle him to a salary.

“The position does not provide a salary,” the official said.

Adam Manik, who is also a member of the Maldivian Democratic Party’s (MDP) national council, has recently praised President Waheed publicly on a number of occasions.

He has said if the President’s Gaumee Ithihad Party faces dissolution due the lack of single member, he is willing join the party.

Attempts to obtain a word from Adam Manik regarding his appointment has been unsuccessful as his phone was switched off.
