Vessel near Bandos catches fire

A fire incident has taken place on a boat near Bandos Island Resort.

Information Officer of MNDF, Ibrahim Azim said that the fire incident took place on board the boat named "Rangalhu 2" and the incident was reported around 9:20 p.m. tonight.

The Fire and Rescue Services are in the area according to the MNDF Information Officer. He said that the crew on board controlled the fire using foam.

MNDF siad that the fire started on the engine of the vessel while traveling with cargo from Hulhulé to Kudafushi Resort in Raa atoll with 17 people on board.

No reports of any injuries has been made in relation to the fire incident.
