Mahloof sentenced to 6 more months in prison

South Galolhu MP Ahmed Mahloof has been sentenced to six more months in prison by Criminal Court.

Mahloof was sentenced to 6 more months in prison on Monday evening after the court found him guilty in the second case against him for allegedly obstructing police from performing their duty.

Mahloof is already serving a 4-month prison sentence after being found guilty of a similar charge.

Criminal Court’s verdict says that witness testimony proved that Mahloof had pushed through barricades placed by police at Boduthakurufaanu Magu and Mohamed Ismail Didi Goalhi during widespread opposition protests in Male’ starting from 9:30 pm on March 25.
