Umar: A Political group won

Home Minister Umar Naseer has said that a political group would not plant bomb to assassinate a political opposition.

Speaking at the official function in H.Dh. Kulhudhuffushi celebrating Victory Day, Minister Umar Naseer said that no political party in the Maldives would do that.

“No political group would plant a bomb somewhere to assassinate a political opposition. I am sure. No political part in the Maldives, to play with the soul of another party’s leader, would not attack like that. That is something we are assured of.” Umar said.

Home Minister Umar said that this is a time to be united for the sake of the pride and sanctity of the state. And this is the time to work keeping aside the political disagreements and criticism.

Speaking about the attack on the Presidential Launch on 28 September, the Home Minister said that if the attack had been successful, how the Maldives was perceived as a state would have been changed.

That was when the Minister said that a political party would not do anything like it.
