Ahmed Ashraf a.k.a. “Shumba Gong”, who has been sought in the investigation of the explosion on board the Presidential Launch, has been arrested in Sri Lanka.

Speaking at a press conference by the National Inquiry Commission this morning at the President’s Office, Home Minister Umar Naseer said that the Inquiry Commission wants to find the eight people abroad. And if they disobey the order of the Inquiry Commission, Red Notice would be issued against them via Interpol.

Ahmed Ashraf “Shumba Gong” is also among the list of people abroad who is wanted for the investigation.

Shumba Gong is an activist on Twitter promoting the Vice President Ahmed Adheeb. He has criticized the Government after the Vice President’s arrest.

His latest tweet said that he was in danger and wished everyone to be safe.

The eight people sought by the investigation are:

- Mohamed Allaam Latheef (Moho), M Cessna

- Mohamed Hussain (Oittey), G. Oevaali

- Mohamed Visham (Vish) Vaijeheyge, H.A. Muraidhoo

- Ahmed Faathih (Benjo), Raibageechaage, K. Dhiffushi

- Mohamed Aseel Ahmed, H. Aidha

- Ahmed Ashraf (Shumba Gong), Nailoanuge, Lh. Naifaru

- Hussain Sinaan, Vaijeheyge, H.A. Muraidhoo

- Ahmed Ishfaaq Ali, M Land of Garden

“I call to these people, their families, their wives and children, their fathers and mothers, we order them to return to the Maldives now and cooperate in the investigation.” Minister Umar Naseer said.
