Gasim vows to do everything possible to protect government

Leader of Jumhooree Party (JP) Gasim Ibrahim has promised to do everything possible to protect the government.

Gasim made this remark in a short interview to Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) supporters’ Facebook page, Asurumaa.

“I would sincerely work to protect the government and do everything possible in this regard within the boundaries of the law,” he said.

Gasim further said he feels a sense of loyalty towards President Abdulla Yameen, and attacks on the country’s leader such as the explosion on the presidential speedboat, are unacceptable.

The fallen coalition has begun mending ties following the explosion.
