Ziyath returns home after five hours at the Police Station

Managing Director of the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), Abdulla Ziyath has returned home after five hours at the Police Station.

Abdulla Ziyath was summoned by the Police to take a statement regarding an ongoing investigation by the Police.

Ziyath came out of the Police Station via the door to Boduthakurufaanu Magu. The Police Media Official said that journalists have to stay behind the barricade near the MMA and cannot enter the area.

The SO Police in the area said that no locals are permitted in the area.

When asked as to why Abdulla Ziyath was summoned by the Police today, their Media Official said that he was summoned regarding an ongoing investigation. And no details about the case can be revealed at this time.

“Since the case is under investigation, no information about the case can be revealed yet.” The Police Media Official said.

The office of MMPRC was also searched the by the Police on Saturday night and confiscated some items from the place. It is unclear exactly what they took at this time.

The court order to search the residence of Ziyath says that the apartment is being searched due to information received about information obtained by hacking into an email and listening into phone calls.
