Home Minister: Government working to uncover truth behind Raudha's death

Home Minister, Azleem Ahmed has said that the Maldivian government is doing everything they can to uncover the truth behind the death of the young Maldivian model and medical student, Raudha Athif, who found dead in her university dorm room in Bangladesh.

Minister Azleen told Sun Media today that the Maldivian government is sadden and concerned by the loss and is supporting her family.

While a special team from the Maldivian Police Service has left for Bangladesh today to join the investigation, Minister Azleen said that numerous lines are being pursued to uncover the truth behind her death.

A statement issued by the Maldives Police Service today said that two high ranked officers has left for Bangladesh to acquire information on the investigation and assist the family.

Sources say that the two police officers that left for Bangladesh are a Superintendent and an Inspector.

The Maldivian Foreign Ministry also issued a statement today saying that they are providing all assistance to the family through the Ministry and the Maldivian Embassy in Dhaka.
